ONE WOMAN’S RACE
The first title which came to my mind for this book was: “Why I Ran”. But then, it had a ring of finality to it which I found inappropriate, especially given the fact that I was still running! The race has not yet ended.
A complete and definitive documentation of my engagement and active participation in Nigerian politics would be premature at this point; however, I felt that it was important to put down my reflections on the road so far covered. That is what this book seeks to do.

East, who is widely regarded as the father of contemporary Hausa literature. Their unusual union was a turning point in her life.
